Our mission.
At Coastal Custodian, we exist to educate, inform and inspire people about all things Northumberland, whilst supporting and promoting local communities and businesses, and helping to protect our precious wildlife and environment.
Through stunning photography, captivating videos, and engaging live streams, we showcase the rugged coastlines, ancient castles, charming villages, and hidden gems that make Northumberland truly special. Our content brings the region's beauty directly to you, whether you're planning your next visit or simply longing to connect with this remarkable corner of Britain.

Coastal Custodian is more than just a digital presence – we're actively involved in preserving and enhancing the region we love:
Environmental Protection
We regularly report issues to and assist ranger and wildlife services including British Divers Marine Rescue (where we're qualified Marine Medics), Coast Care, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Space for Shorebirds (where our canine companions Lola & Louie serve as official dog rangers), RNLI, and the HM Coastguard.
Community Support
We report local maintenance issues to organisations such as National Trust and Northumberland County Council to ensure our shared spaces remain beautiful and accessible.
Local Fundraising
We organise fundraising initiatives to support vital local projects that benefit the Northumberland community, including raising funds for Beadnell playground, supporting beach wheelchair access at Beadnell Beach, donating proceeds from calendar sales to support the brave work of the RNLI Seahouses Crew, and supporting the Craster Arms project to feed vulnerable residents in Beadnell during lockdown.
Accessibility Advocacy
We raise awareness of coastal access for everyone by highlighting programmes such as Beach Wheelchairs and the Outdoor Guide schemes.
